MTV K
MTV K was a channel dedicated to mainly Korean Americans, Asian Americans and K-Pop lovers that showcased the best of Korean culture while providing a platform for Korean American talent. This premium channel launched on DirectTV on June 27, 2006 with viewer-voted music video, K-pop sensation BoA’s, "My Name." MTV K was presented in English and combined the best programming from its international affiliates with specially created packaging, shows, news and events.
MTV K was the newest channel to launch under the MTV World banner, after MTV Chi and MTV Desi (for Chinese and South Asian/Desi Americans, respectively).
Programming
On April 30, 2007, MTV K and its two other MTV World counterparts, MTV Chi and MTV Desi, went off air.
